NFTs have been gaining more and more traction amongst celebrities, the latest one to join is superstar Sonam Kapoor. She has become one of the early investors in the new blockchain-based game, MechaFightClub (MFC) which has been recently launched by Irreverent Labs. The game, founded in 2021, is a metaverse gaming platform with every character in the game being individually unique, artificially intelligent non-player-character (NPC) living on blockchain as an NFT. While announcing the news on Social Media, Sonam revealed that she has ‘grown up playing video games and love everything about them. The art, the storytelling, the creativity that goes into developing a game that is exciting today and also stands the test of time is something that has always intrigued [her]’.What she particularly enjoy, is the merging of the video industry into the next chapter of WEB 3.0, for which she is really excited to become part of! This comes along with other major celebrities have already invested in the space such as Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Snoop Dog, Kate Moss, amongst others.
